Officials update fees for county parks and recreational facilities

Commissioners recently updated the user fees for certain of the activities at the county’s parks and recreational facilities, as well as introduced a new sponsorship program. The updated fees, which the Jefferson County Commission approved via a resolution on Thursday, Nov. 21, aim to help support the growing needs of Jefferson County recreational parks and facilities and the activities that they offer, such as baseball, T-ball, softball, flag football, soccer and pickleball, all of which have been growing in participation over the years. “Many of the fields and courts are being used for multiple purposes outside of their intended uses, causing ex
