The Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce has officially welcomed a new business to the downtown area: On Point Boutique.

Owner Ashlie Roberts and her family welcomed friends, community members and fellow business owners to a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 3. The guests browsed the boutique's hunting-themed and western style apparel; enjoyed refreshments, hors d'oeuvres and sweet bites; and celebrated together the opening of the new shop at 166 E. Dogwood St., which at one time was the old Rexall drugstore.
Just before the ribbon-cutting moment, Chamber Executive Director Amy McDaniel commented, “We're proud of you. Your store is amazing. I've already shopped!”
Then Board President Eydie Tricquet read a proclamation on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, welcoming On Point Boutique as a member and bestowing best wishes for good fortune.
Roberts thanked everyone for coming to the event and expressed her nervous excitement about the business venture.
In a later interview, she explained that opening the shop is something she's been dreaming of for many years. It's a monumental change after having worked in the medical field for 15 years, a hard-but-good decision, she said, to give her more flexibility and time with her son Wesson (age 4) and husband Dustin, who owns Roberts Lawn Care.
On Point Boutique gets its name and logo design from the family's two German short-haired pointers. Ashlie grew up in Monticello, and her longtime love for hunting sports and everything outdoors is reflected in the clothing and accessories she's now selling for men, women and children.
The store is open seven days a week:
Mondays-Fridays 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sundays 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Be sure to find a time to drop in!
