I could not believe the last article in the newspaper concerning a possible sale of an old school in Monticello. What was unbelievable was the discussion over whether taking a 1.00 or 300,000 for the same building offered any discussion whatsoever. I understand that the school board has spent citizens' money and now to cost those same citizens more money seems to be of no consequence to these unbelievable board members. Being a church member of one party offering money should disqualify those particular board members from even voting. I believe the ethics committee will have some input into this decision. If the DOE does not place tighter restrictions on this board then total chaos will abound again. When will this board learn that now they are highly mistrusted, and that trusting them to make a reasonable decision without using positions to benefit themselves is a non starter. How long, Halsey Beshears, must the citizens of Jefferson County be tormented by a school board of incompetence?
