Have you noticed environmental, economic, or climate changes in your community over the last 20 years? Have your planting season times changed? Or have you noticed extreme weather, more heat, and more storms/ flooding in your area? Next week you'll have an opportunity to share your observations with the Southeast Climate Energy Network – and enjoy free chili and butter cake.
As part of the NOAA-RISA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration- Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessment) Program, Southeast Climate and Energy Network (SCEN), Environmental Finance Center West (EFCWest), Hometown Action, Urban Climate Nexus, and Exposure Labs want to hear from members of communities in Jefferson County, Fla., about the climate impacts residents are currently facing and anticipate.
If you have noticed climate differences in the Jefferson County area we’d love for you to participate in this workshop on July 28 and 29.
We will be hosting a screening of short documentaries on Thursday, July 28, at 5 p.m. at the Jefferson County Recreation Park (1380 Mamie Scott Dr.). This will be followed by a workshop on Friday, July 29, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at Monticello Opera House (185 West Washington). The workshop will focus on:
