On Monday, March 10, around 6:30 p.m., a semi truck traveling southbound on U.S. 19 overturned as it was approaching the highway's intersection with William Floyd Road near Capps, Fla.
According to the incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the driver, a 32-year-old man from Springhill, Fla., told FHP that he experienced a tire issue and swerved into the median. The semi then collided with a culvert and began to overturn, spilling a portion of its load of lumber. When it came to rest, the cab, trailer and spilled cargo stretched across both northbound lanes of U.S. 19. The FHP report lists no other vehicles involved. Charges are pending.
