It was recently announced that two Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) student athletes have been named the Players of the Year by the Florida Christian Athletic League (FCAL) for baseball and softball.
Gabe Gamalero, a junior on the Warriors baseball team, has amassed a .405 batting average and an on-base average of .561. He has 32 hits and 22 RBIs on the year. On the pitcher's mound, he has a 4-4 record for the Warriors, with one save and 46 strike-outs, compared to 32 walks. Gamalero also plays shortstop for the Warriors. He is the son of Willie and Melissa Gamalero.
Madison Rudd is also a junior at ACA, where she plays on the Lady Warriors varsity softball team. This year, she has a batting average of .488 with a .641 on-base percentage. She has 21 hits and 21 RBIs on the season and has scored 22 runs for the Lady Warriors. She is the daughter of Kane and Karen Rudd.
The FCAL is an organization for student athletes in the sixth through 12th grades. Their objective is “to organize, stimulate, encourage and promote athletic programs with the purpose of fostering a spirit of fair play, good Christian fellowship, true sportsmanship and wholesome competition between Christian schools.” ACA is one of 14 member schools in the league.
