Pastor Nathan N. Peeler is the minister at the Monticello Church of Christ, located at 475 S. Jefferson St.
His congregation is small, but with their strong values, committed church family and love for Christ, the church looks forward to a prosperous future. Together they are looking to grow and welcome anyone who is looking to grow closer to God with them.
Pastor Peeler is the son of a preacher, so he has been around the ministry of God's Word his whole life. As a youngster, Peeler says that he wasn't sure about his continued involvement in the ministry, because he felt that some preachers and their families weren't treated fairly.
But, God continued to give him opportunities that he couldn't turn from, and he had a desire to teach people about how amazing God is. So, when the chance to take on the Parkway Church of Christ in Tennessee was offered, he took it.
Pastor Peeler would then go on to lead several churches before his move to Monticello. He received his informal ministerial training at the Cork Church of Christ in 2009. Then he was a pastor at the Parkway Church of Christ from 2010 to 2016 and the Spring Warrior Church of Christ from 2016 to 2019.
Pastor Peeler moved around quite a bit as a youngster because of his father's profession as a preacher, but he calls Tennessee his home. After several years of his ministry, Pastor Peeler chose to move to Perry, Fla.
He'd met people and developed friendships with several people who had relocated to Perry, and during visits with them, he found that he loved the community and atmosphere of the small town.
Pastor Peeler has worked other jobs outside the ministry, including as a laborer for the Water Department in Tennessee and as a history teacher in a small private school. But, working in ministry is his heart.
Pastor Peeler has an Associate of Arts degree from Florida College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Religion from Saint Leo University and a Masters of Arts degree in Bible and Theology from Lincoln Christian University.
Pastor Nathan Peeler married his wife, Hayley, on May 23, 2015. The two met in Tampa at the church where Peeler's father had preached. Today, the couple has two children: Matthias, who will be two in December, and Malachi, who was born this year in August.
Peeler enjoys reading and spending time with his family. He's not involved with any local groups or clubs yet, as his young family is somewhat new to the area, but they are both looking for ways to become engaged in the community and get to know their neighbors better.
