Patty Jean Shannon, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020. The past four years, her health had diminished because of her battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Patty was born in Leavenworth, Kan. on Feb. 8, 1934, and lived in Fanlew, Fla., until 2016 when she moved to Brynwood Health Center in Monticello.
Patty was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, canning, and crafting. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoyed making things for them. She made beautiful baby blankets for everyone in the family who will treasure them for many years to come. Patty attended First Baptist Church of Lloyd and enjoyed fellowships with Lloyd Silver Saints until she could no longer physically attend.
She is survived by her three loving sons, George (Kathleen) Shannon, Jr., Michael (Rachel) Shannon and Keith (Cindy) Shannon; six grandchildren, Kacey (Dolly) Shannon, Kirsten (Benjamin) Knowles, Michael (Melanie) Shannon, Tabitha (Brian) Price, Shaughnessy (Chris) Tuten and Ethan (Monica) Shannon; 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Esther Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Shannon, Sr., parents, William and Esther Shaughnessy, seven siblings and one grandson, Kris Shannon.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 30, 2020, at 11:00 am at Broomsage Cemetery, Wacissa, Fla. Funeral arrangements by Beggs Funeral Homes, Apalachee Parkway.
