Pettis Alpha "Toot" Bright, 87, of Monticello passed in Madison, Fla., on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022. Graveside services are 1 p.m. on Saturday in Ashville Community Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at 1215 N. Jefferson St., Monticello. A Jefferson County native, Mr. Bright was a retired farmer and a deacon at New Jerusalem M.B. Church. Cherishing loving memories are his wife, Debra Dawson; son, Nathan (Carol) Bright; daughters, Gloria (Elijah) Anderson and Kathia (Terry) Roberts; bonus children, Fredricka (Timothy) Stebbins, Ethel Brown, Lakeshia, Lateshia, Lyndon, Fredrick & Dedrick Dawson; 4 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
