Pinnacle Art and Mirror, a frame shop that has been in operation at the Jefferson County Industrial Park for about one year, recently joined the Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. At an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 17, the local business and professional community welcomed Pinnacle's co-owners, Johnathan Andrews and his brother Philip Andrews, and their staff of 12.
Chamber President Roger Champion read the proclamation and added, “Johnathan and Philip, we congratulate you and your business, Pinnacle, for being a part of the community.”
Then Johnathan addressed the group, saying, “We finally slowed down enough we could breathe and thought it was time to get involved in the local community. We want to get to know everyone and let you all know that we are here.”
Philip added, “We love it out here. We love the space we have out here at the Industrial Park. We like Jefferson County.”
As the cut ribbon rippled into the wind, guests headed inside for a substantial buffet provided by Pinnacle in their outer office, which also doubles as a gallery space to showcase original artwork and samples of framing styles. With plates of shrimp-sausage skewers, meatballs, pasta salad, brownies and many other tasty treats, guests began to tour the 43,000-square-foot facility. Johnathan and Philip showed different areas of production where their employees use specialized equipment for a variety of purposes. In one room they can print colorful artwork onto canvases, while in another area they cut glass. Another area houses mat board cutters that create beveled borders to set off artwork. One area has industrial saws for neatly chopping moulding to precise specifications, as well as v-nailers for putting the pieces together into frames for pictures and mirrors. Long corridors of the warehouse hold order after order crated up and ready to be shipped to hotels and venues all over the country. Although Pinnacle primarily serves the hospitality industry, they are also able to serve the individual, local customer who may have as few as one personal item to frame.
The Andrews brothers began to develop their business in May of 2020, when they acquired the building that formerly housed PS Art, which had operated a similar type of framing business. They also purchased the picture-framing equipment and a large inventory of framing materials that still filled the building after the former owner closed up shop.
Johnathan Andrews says that they spent about a year cleaning up and organizing the production areas and contents. They hired back Ken Nolder, who had been the production manager for a ten-year span at PS Art, and by early 2021 they were ready to hit the ground running, fulfilling large orders for framed artwork and mirrors for the hospitality industry. Their office and facility at 156 Too Long Keen Rd. in Monticello is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. To make an appointment outside these times, just call (850) 997-3557.
