
Planners hear Duke’s application for solar farm near Waukeenah on June 12

Notwithstanding Duke Energy having recently received approval from the Florida Public Service Commission for a solar power rate adjustment, the electric company must still get approval from local officials for placement of a large-scale solar facility near the small community of Waukeenah.
The first step in the local permitting process entails a public hearing before the Jefferson County Planning Commission, which is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the courthouse annex at 435 Walnut Street.
