Planners off to slow start on comp plan revision

Jefferson County planners got off to a slow start in their scheduled revision and update of the comprehensive plan on Thursday, Dec. 14, getting no further than a generalized discussion of buffers and setback requirements.
The planners did, however, accept the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (ERA), a document that contains the results of a consultant’s evaluation of the comprehensive plan and that sets the basis for the plan’s revisions.
Per state law, ERAs must be performed at minimum every seven years to ensure that comprehensive plans are compliant with both state laws and changed local conditions.
