Are your flower beds bursting with self-propagating plants? Are your hands full of quality cuttings from your recent spring gardening? Is your fruit tree putting out saplings? Did your compost bin burst forth with dozens of healthy seedlings that you just don't need but can't bring yourself to simply throw away? Bring your unwanted or surplus plants to next month's Plant Swap and Sale!
On May 7, Granny Kat's Apiary Supply and Bee Learning Center will be hosting a Plant Swap and Sale from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., at the center, located at 407 Industrial Park Drive in Monticello. All are welcome to come out with a few (3-5) of your favorite extra plants that you would like to swap! There will be a swap section as well as a sale section, and they ask that all plants be clearly marked. Plants, flowers, small trees, vegetable plants, fruit trees, etc. are all welcome to be brought in. There will be tables set up in front of the Granny Kat's store for the plants to be displayed.
Anyone who has unneeded plastic pots or trays that they don't need may bring them in, and Granny Kat's will recycle or reuse them. They will be offering a variety of their own plants for the event, and will have knock-out roses, bromeliads, lemon grass, Taiwan cherry trees, rose of Sharon, assorted tropical plants and hibiscus plants available for sale, and will have aloe, small lemon grass plants, crepe myrtle starters, for swap, along with anything else that people bring in.
Bring one plant, take one home! Bring three plants, take three home! Also, be aware that May 8 is Mother's Day! Come and pick up a beautiful new plant for mom!
