Ponderings…Current state of affairs

I've had to take a big step back from the media lately, because it fills me to the brim with anxiety. You may be wondering how someone who works in the media can turn away from the media, but it has been a self-preservation act to distance myself with much of the goings on beyond our little town. I am dismayed to admit this, but I have lost faith in us. Look at where we have ended up. Look at who we have become. I fear this circus masquerade has gone on so long that the damage is irreparable. We have all had to participate in or stand witness to such tomfoolery that it doesn't really seem real anymore.
