Pons to sit on panel of principals from improved schools

The Bureau of School Improvement (BSI) has invited Principal Jackie Pons to join a panel of school principals whose schools have freshly exited their oversight. News had come on Dec. 11 that Jefferson County K-12 School (JCS) had earned a C grade for the 2022-23 school year after decades of mostly Ds and Fs. The achievement immediately removed JCS from the BSI list.
Just three days later, Rachel Heide, the regional executive director for BSI's Region 1, was putting together a panel of principals to share their experiences, successes and best practices with others whose schools the Florida Dept. of Education placed under its BSI oversight.
