Pop’s Sanitation loses industrial park home

County officials’ recent approval of the sale of a surplus building at the industrial park went without a hitch, unlike the contentious debate that ensued when the building’s sale was first proposed in the summer.
On Tuesday, Nov. 16, the Jefferson County Commission unanimously approved the sale of a three-acre property and building at 300 Industrial Park Drive to the highest of the two bidders, each of whose offers exceeded the appraised value of $282,000.
The winning bid, submitted by JD and April James, was for $331,300, compared with the bid of $314,000 submitted by Pop’s Sanitation, one of two businesses – the other being Florida Safe Rid
