
Possible cat shooting turns into drug bust

On Monday, June 2, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) were brought out to a disturbance on East Pinhook Road in Wacissa. According to a press release provided by JCSO, the disturbance was in reference to reports of a man by the name of Daniel Boland allegedly shooting a cat. Deputies arrived on scene to secure statements from the family, and were told that Boland, who lived in a camper trailer on the property with his girlfriend, Melissa Whitehead, had entered his father's home, located on the same property, had taken a firearm and had left the residence and fired the weapon.
