The 2024-25 season for the Monticello Community Prayer Breakfast kicked off on Thursday, Sept. 5, with nearly 70 people starting their day early in order to gather at 7 a.m. at the First Methodist Church Family Ministry Center.
“One could feel the Christian spirit in the room,” commented Gary Wright, who has been organizing the meetings for 31 years now.
Rev. Jonathan F. Brewster, the minister for this month's hosting church, welcomed everyone and lifted up the opening blessing. A moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of Kent Watson, who had attended the prayer breakfasts for many years and had unexpectedly passed away the week before.
