Prepare to meet thy God

In in the Old Testament book of Amos 12, God revealed to his people through Amos all the things he did to show his power and get them to return to him. We find the phrase “yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD” repeated five times. Here one of the most remembered challenges in the history of Israel is recorded: “Therefore, this will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel” (Amos 4:12).
