County officials have scheduled a public hearing for adoption of an ordinance that will require Level II criminal background checks on certain county employees and job applicants. The public hearing concerns the proposal to set up a system for criminal history record checks of county employees and appointees in positions that are deemed critical to security or public safety. It is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Jefferson County Courthouse
