Dear Editor: I read Mr. Aleman’s article with interest, glad to see Florida finally catching up with other states’ approach to retail sales in the alcoholic beverage market. However, what gave me pause was Rep. Chip LaMarca’s belief that this move puts Florida “on the forefront of … important policy issues--…criminal justice reform.” While I sincerely applaud any measure that decrimanalizes actions that are not inherently criminal in nature, this particular move hardly rises to the level of “criminal justice reform.” While this year’s legislative session may have removed criminal sanctions from what is essentially & function of retail commerce, a number of other ac
