Reams and McNeill trial begins Monday

The trial of two former officers of the Jefferson County Clerk of Court Office is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 19, and is expected to last more than a week.
Charged each with one count of grand theft and organized scheme to defraud are Kirk Reams, the former clerk of court, and his chief deputy clerk and human resources director, Justin Tyler McNeill. The proceeding is set to begin at 9 a.m. Monday in the second-floor courtroom of the county courthouse, with jury selection the first step in the process.
