Reams’ February trial date gets postponed

The jury trial of Kirk Reams, the former clerk of court charged with grand theft and organized scheme to defraud – set last week to begin on Feb. 26 – was early this week postponed due to a change of mind on the defendant’s part.
On Monday, Jan. 22, Circuit Court Judge Stephen Everett accepted a stipulated motion from the defense attesting to Reams’ willingness to forego a speedy trial. In consequence of this decision, the judge canceled the earlier scheduled February trial date for Reams.
