Reams’ trial set for May 6

The jury trial of Kirk Reams, former Jefferson County clerk of court, is set for early May.
In a court order issued on Monday, April 1, Circuit Judge Stephen Everett granted Reams’ request for a speedy trial. The judge also granted a codefendant’s motion for a severance of the trial.
Reams’ trial is set for May 6, with case management hearings set on April 22 and May 3. Reams and codefendants Warren Charles Culp and Justin Tyler McNeill are each charged with fraud and organized scheme to defraud. Culp
earlier entered an open plea with the court and will be testifying against Reams and McNeill, who will be tried separately.
