Regional unemployment rate announced for July 2024

According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon and Wakulla counties was 4.0 percent for July 2024. This rate was 0.6 percentage point greater than the region’s year ago rate of 3.4 percent and was 0.2 percentage point above the state rate of 3.8 percent.
Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 3.5 percent. Leon County followed at 3.9 percent, Jefferson County 4.3 percent, and Gadsden County at 4.7 percent.
In July, the labor force was 202,674 up 1,720 (+0.9 percent) over the year. There were 8,015 unemployed residents in the regio
