Remembering September 11

Rev. John Hicks Guest Columnist There are some events in our lifetime that have a lasting impact on us. Jan. 28 is my birthday, but on Jan. 28, 1986, the Challenger exploded. I grew up on Florida’s east coast, and it hit me hard. Another date with happenings that hit me hard was Sept. 11, 2001. It’s been 25 years, but I still remember the events and the way they affected me and our nation. If there’s one thing those fateful days taught us, it’s that tomorrow is not promised.
