Monticello is fortunate to contain many historic buildings within our humble county. These buildings greatly enrich the atmosphere of our little town, adding to the history and culture of it.
Appreciating and learning about the buildings we do have is important. It is also important, however, to remember some of the Monticello treasures that have been lost to time. Just because they have burned, decayed or otherwise disappeared in more recent years, does not mean that they have to be forgotten. The memory of them still offers much useful information regarding the town's people, architecture, culture and more.
