A 2024 analysis of workforce and demographic characteristics in Jefferson County shows that the overwhelming majority of employed residents commute outside the county for jobs, making for a significant outflow of workers.
The report, from the Florida Department of Commerce (FDOC), is called a labor shed analysis, which is used to define where workers work and where workers live relative to a defined area. It further helps determine where a labor market draws its commuting workers.
