On Saturday, Aug. 7, the Restored Glory Christian Center hosted it's 15th Annual School Jam, a backpack and supplies donation drive that helps families with children in need to be better prepared to start the new school year. This year's event was a reported success, with over 275 backpacks given away to families in need!
While various circumstances prevented some of the sponsors from coming out to show their support in person, Restored Glory is grateful for all of the sponsors of this event, including The Jefferson County Public Library, who was able to come out and show their support for this event.
After the event was over, the center received several calls asking if there were any remaining bags of supplies available. Restored Glory would like to let the community know that they have approximately 30 bags left over from this event, so for those who missed this year's back to school event and would like to collect a backpack, feel encouraged to call or text the Restored Glory Christian Center at (850) 997-7422. While supplies last.
Each of the backpacks is pre-packed with 20 school supply items.
Restored Glory would like to thank everyone who took part in this years event, and to remind the community of their upcoming food pantry drive which will take place in September, location and date to be announced. They also would like to encourage anyone in the community who is struggling or is in need of assistance, to call the church, and speak to the outreach team. Stefanie Montgomery, who helps organize outreach missions for the church, would like to remind everyone that, “help is not always monetary. Sometimes someone in the community may need someone to listen, or talk to, and we are here for that type of outreach as well. We have a team of church members who are dedicated to helping the community in the best capacity we can.”
