Ridership picks up on shuttle service to Tallahassee

The new Amazon facility in Tallahassee is already having an impact in Monticello, in terms of the ridership on the Big Bend Transit (BBT) express shuttle.
Several months ago, when the Monticello News checked with BBT on the number of local residents taking advantage of the shuttle service between Monticello and the capital city, the number of riders was reported to be about 10 to 15 people monthly.
That number is now up to between 100 and 150 monthly, according to BBT Assistant Manager Robert Adams, who attributed the uptick to the opening of Amazon’s so-called fulfillment center on the east side of Tallahassee, off U.S 90 near the interstate.
