Ringworm – Breaking the cycle of itchy circles

Ringworm is exceptionally common, with around a fourth of the entire world's population contracting it at some point in their lives. Despite the name, ringworm is actually not a worm at all, but is a type of fungal infection that is easily identified by the tell-tale, ring-shaped rash. While it is possible for a ringworm infection to go away on its own, it could take months for the body to rid itself of the infection, and in the meantime, it is extremely contagious, so the chances of spreading it to someone else or to other parts of the body are high.
