Rotary Club of Monticello will be holding a Sporting Clays Classic this fall – a new event for the club that its members hope will raise significant funds for creating a large annual scholarship for local youth. Proceeds will also be used to support Rotary's local service projects such as ramp-building and operating a disaster trailer. The event is designed to be enjoyed by newcomers to the sport as well as seasoned pros.
“Grab your shotgun and come test your skills on our challenging course,” the signup form says. “Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with fellow shooting enthusiasts and support a great cause.”
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Ranges at Oakfield in Thomasville, Ga., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring cash to enter the raffle to win prizes such as guns and many more items up for grabs. Shooting starts at 10 a.m. and after lunch trophies will be presented!
Shooters can enter the tournament as an individual or form their own team. Signing up as an individual costs $150, and these folks will be combined into five-person teams. Shooters can sign up as their own team at $450 for a four-person team and $550 for a five person team.
In addition, sponsorship packages are available with various levels of promotional visibility: Clay Station $150 (just 10 spots available); Associate $1,000; Presenting $2,500; and Title $5,000. For more details about sponsorship opportunities, contact Rotary President Scott Arden at (850) 943-2502 or scottarden924@gmail.com.
