On Sunday, Oct. 3, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas observed a car speeding in the area of Highway 27 and Highway 59. Deputy Thomas conducted a traffic stop on the red sedan which was traveling from Perry to Tallahassee.
Upon stopping the vehicle, Deputy Thomas made contact with the driver, Tysheonna Gaddy, of Perry, FL. Deputy Thomas advised the driver he smelled the odor of narcotics coming from within the vehicle. K-9 Magnum was deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from within the vehicle.
Deputy Thomas then made contact with the front seat passenger Shakeir August, also of Perry, FL. Upon removing August from the vehicle, he (August) told deputies there was a gun and drugs under his seat. Deputies searched the vehicle and located the following items: A loaded 9mm hand gun with 33 rounds, a conversion kit for the hand gun which converted it into an assault style rifle and a 100 round drum style magazine, multiple bags containing approximately 28 grams of marijuana, 97 (36 grams) of Ecstasy (MDMA) pills, approximately 4 grams of cocaine and approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies also located items consistent with drug sales.
August was arrested and booked in to the Jefferson County Jail on the following charges: trafficking MDMA, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of felony THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a concealed weapon.
August’s bond was set at $53,500 and he has bonded out, at this time.
