Sally Jane Parker, 57, of Monticello, Fla. transitioned on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020 surrounded by her family.
The viewing and visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 at the Monticello Church of God In Christ (COGIC). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Monticello Church of God In Christ, with burial at Mt. Ararat Cemetery. In an effort to follow the COVID-19 prevention guidelines, all attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. GRACE Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Crawfordville, Fla., (850-926-4407) is in charge of the arrangements.
Sally was born in Wacissa, Fla., to the late Harry and Hattie Louise Fishburn Parker. She attended the public schools in Monticello: the former Howard Academy and Jefferson County High School. She worked various jobs to support herself and her family. She was much loved by her employers, co-workers and friends.
Sally was a faithful member of the Monticello COGIC, under the leadership of Elder Coleman Fairley, until her health began to fail. She was full of life and she enjoyed celebrating life with her children whom she was very protective of.
Treasuring her loving memories are her daughters: Shontina Louise Ellis of Monticello and Robin (Dank “Clay”) Forbes; her sons: Dathana Ricardo (Cheshonda Lashelle) Parker of Brunswick, Ga., Wilbur Lee Ellis, Jr. (D’Andrea Williams) of Monticello and Sidney (Jessica) Plummer of Orlando, Fla.; her grandchildren: Donyae, Elizie, Tyreke, Sidney III, Wilbur III, Travon, Zaevon, Darius, Eric, Frankesha, Sanjala, Zariah, Janai, Carliyah, Kamesha and Erica; her sisters: Minister Hattie Louise Baker, Shirley (Jessie) Dean and Belinda Oliver all of Monticello; her brothers: Harry James Parker, Jr. of Monticello, Prentice Bernard (Kara) Parker and Reginald (Marie) Parker Taylor all of Tallahassee, Fla., Joshua (Doris) Parker of Perry, Fla., Richard (Charlene) Parker, Jerald Parker and Johnny Parker all of Tampa, Fla.; her close friend Queen Crumity of Monticello and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
