During the week of Monday, Aug. 26, the library at Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) was filled with students who were in the library in the pursuit of finding their newest book during the school's most recent Scholastic Book Fair.
The book fair offered an opportunity for students to purchase books at discounted prices alongside special deals, as well as to score an additional prize, such as a bookmark or book-shaped eraser for free.
For over 30 years, Scholastic Book Fairs have been an exciting function for school students. Generations of young readers have explored the shelves of their school's book fairs.
Whether accompanied by parents or browsing the selections on their own, students are able to pick their books and exchange money for their own reading material.
At ACA's August book fair, librarians and volunteers worked hard to check out the students who were clutching the glossy covers of their newest novels or a picture books pertaining to science, technology, nature and more.
In addition to books, students are able to purchase writing materials such as pencils and erasers, as well as fun book fair souvenirs, like bookmarks, toys or reading-inspired wall posters.
