At a brief, public budget hearing on Monday, July 29, the Jefferson County School Board voted unanimously to tentatively set the millage rate at 5.3320 mills as well as adopt a tentative budget for Jefferson County School District's 2024-25 fiscal year in the amount of $20,313,061. The proposed millage rate of 5.3320 mills is greater than the roll-back rate by 0.30 percent, and is projected to raise $6,289,891. Of this, $3,638,039 is designated as Required Local Effort; $1,769,474 would be for Capital Outlay funding; and $882,378 would be for the Discretionary Operating fund.
