School board deeds property to VFW

At a regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 13, the Jefferson County School Board was finally ready for a conclusive vote regarding the transfer of one of its properties on Mamie Scott Road to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 251. The process took several years, and some in the community thought it might never happen, but many shouts of “hallelujah” could be heard in the board room when each member raised a hand to signify unanimous approval of Resolution No. 2
