School board selects leadership for 2023-24

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc. At the annual Reorganizational Meeting on Monday, Nov. 13, the Jefferson County School Board chose its leadership for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The board has a practice of rotating the chair position among its elected members, but when District 3 Board Member Brenda Wirick declined the nomination, the board voted unanimously for District 1 Board Member Gladys Roann-Watson to continue in this role. For the vice chair position, similarly, District 2 Board Member Willie Ann Dickey declined the nomination.
