Oh, how little girls love their daddies! In celebration of the special bond between fathers and daughters, Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) held an annual before-Valentine’s Day dance on Saturday, Feb. 12. Twinkle lights and balloons expressed the Light Up the Night theme, and the dance floor filled up with princesses in cowgirl boots and ballet shoes. Some even ran around comfortably barefoot for a fun night. As dance styles ranged from the Macarena to the Limbo, delight and laughter filled the air as the children played with friends and danced with their daddies. What more could a little girl ask for? Well... maybe a pony!
Willy Gamalero, the school’s athletic director, transformed into disc jockey for the celebration. Dressed in a festive blue sequin jacket that sparkled with pink pockets, he announced "Butterfly Kisses" as daddies and daughters slow danced hand-in-hand to the sentimental lyrics of the song.
Once the Limbo stick was noticed on the dance floor, it was game-on as dozens of girls lined up to await their turn. All in all, it was a fun-filled evening that produced many new memories for daddies and daughters who attended.
It's a special moment when a daughter gazes into her daddy’s eyes with adorations and love. The school dance helps shed light on the importance of tradition and celebration of a father’s love for his daughter and vice versa. For centuries, all around the world, these types of dance events center around how little girls can have long and lasting relationships with their fathers. The events provide inspiration and encouragement for fathers to be more active in the lives of their daughters.
