Through the contributions of many community partners, students of Jefferson County K-12 Community Partnership School (JCS) will have their school supplies provided for them this year.
For many families, the back-to-school season can be a financially-challenging time. The cost of new classroom essentials, like pencils, erasers, notebooks and backpacks, can be burdensome. Events such as the seasonal tax holiday and local giveaways can help lighten the load, but even with such provisions, some students' needs might still fall through the cracks. For this reason, JCS has partnered with many local individuals and organizations to offer these essentials for free.
Supplies for all JCS students will be provided this year, along with their backpacks, which will meet the requirements of the clear or mesh bag policy that remains in effect for the 2026-2027 school year. Additionally, the teachers' classrooms are stocked with supplies for the benefit of both students and staff.
JCS students can pick up their new backpacks, which will be pre-stuffed with their supplies at the Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the school (50 David Rd.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
