Second Harvest speaks at Chamber about their role in disaster relief

At the Oct. 3 luncheon of the Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Second Harvest of the Big Bend presented an update and look-ahead at things to come in the fight against hunger in our area.
Floyd Faglie, presiding over the meeting for the first time as Chamber President for 2023-24, introduced Events Manager Kristie Teal of Second Harvest, which he noted “serves 16 counties, including Jefferson County, providing food for those in need.”
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak today and tell you a little bit more about Second Harvest of the Big Bend,” Teal began. “We are part of Feeding America, the parent organization.
