Second Saturday returns to Monticello

After a brief hiatus for the summer, Second Saturday festivities have begun once more, encouraging visitors and residents alike to come out and enjoy some beautiful evening weather while they shop fresh deals at Downtown Monticello's brick and mortar businesses, and see what is being offered by new vendors. Last Saturday, Oct. 12, from 4-8 p.m., the downtown merchant's area was bustling with eager shoppers. Vendors sold a variety of goods, including baked goods, jewelry and sweet treats, while shops sported special deals to entice shoppers. Small-town communities benefit greatly from their residents participating in events that promote local commerce
