A food security seminar entitled “How to Eat Healthy and Stay on Budget” will be offered on Friday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. at the UF/IFAS Extension office, located at 2729 W. Washington Hwy. The first 30 attendees receive a $30 grocery gift card at the end of the presentation.
During the seminar, nutrition and financial planning experts will share practical strategies for eating healthy while saving money. These include three UF/IFAS Extension Family & Consumer Sciences agents from our area: Melanie Southerland (Jefferson), Amy Mullins (Leon) and Sharlee Whiddon (Gadsden).
The purpose of the presentation is to build skills to navigate toward food security. The content has been prepared through a partnership between UF/IFAS, the Florida Blue Foundation and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Foundation.
