Senior center keeps active at temporary location

Although spring flooding caused category 3 water damage to the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center (JSCC) facility on North Jefferson Street, the staff and clients have resumed a nearly full calendar of activities at a temporary venue nearby. The Fellowship Hall at Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, located at 690 Cypress St., is busy on Mondays through Thursdays now, having offered this space for JSCC's daily meals, educational presentations, fitness activities, health support programs, community resource sessions and socialization opportunities. Something new added this month is language learning, with lessons in beginning Spanish and Italian.
