Pink, pink, everywhere, and for an important cause. Breast Cancer Awareness activities are happening across the county, and on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 20, the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center joined in. Their regularly scheduled exercise time took the form of a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk.
The walking group of clients, staff and care providers included Linda Diane Smith, Annie McDuffie, Kookie Rackley, Dorothy Mae Jones, Mary McIntosh, Robert Kirksey, Earnestine Keaton, Mary Alice Parker, Lester Campbell and Maria Beverly. As they strolled along North Jefferson Street near the Senior Center, they showed their support with pink attire and a poster of pink ribbons to honor breast cancer survivors and remember those lost to the disease.
For more information about upcoming activities at the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center, contact Older American Act Coordinator Annie McDuffie, (850) 342-0242.
