Most homesteads that raise chickens want to provide a safe, sanitary home for their flock, and whether you free-range or have a chicken-run set up, a good portion of poultry husbandry comes down to the quality of your coop. A good chicken coop can protect birds from elements like wind and rain as well as from predators like opossums, hawks, raccoons and foxes. While most wire panels are easily capable of keeping these larger predators out, there is one sneaky little thief that can slither in unannounced, one that gives many unsuspecting chicken parents the heebie-jeebies: snakes!
