Sheriff and police departments to alternate access to federal grant

Lazaro Aleman ECB Publishing, Inc. City and county officials recently approved an arrangement between the Monticello Police Department (MPD) and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) whereby law-enforcement agency will have full claim to a federal grant every other year, instead of splitting the amount annually. The interlocal agreement between the JCSO and MPD establishes that the former will receive the full grant amount on even years and the latter on odd years going forward. T
