Shrimp growing facility not coming to industrial park

NaturalShrimp, a Texas-based aqua-tech company that in 2021 announced plans to locate a facility here, will not be coming as of now.
On Thursday, Sept. 7, the Jefferson County Commission voted to refund the $5,000 deposit that the company – which is now called NaturalShrimp/Hydrenesis – made in 2022 to secure a 10-acre property off U.S. 19 South near the industrial park.
