It's time for the next batter up at the Jefferson County Recreation Park. Registration for spring sports starts on Monday, Feb. 26.
T-ball is for ages 4-6, Machine-pitch is for ages 7-9, Little League is for ages 10-12 and Girls Softball is for girls ages 9-16.
The registration fee for T-ball, Machine-pitch and Girls Softball is $35; the fee for Little League is $45. This fee covers a hat, shirt, pants and socks.
For Softball, the recreation department is planning to schedule games in two age groups, 9-11 and 12-16, depending on how many girls sign up.
To register, come by the Rec Park or contact Mike Holm at (850) 519-6640 or Jeffrey Prevatt at (850) 274-5183. For softball, an additional contact is Erin Greene at (850) 508-4074.
On Friday, March 1, Holm and Prevatt will be extending their hours to include 4 to 7 p.m. for registration. Anyone interested in being a coach or umpire can also call them.
Games are expected to begin in April.
