Single vehicle wreck leaves one deceased

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. On Saturday morning, March 8, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a crash located on U.S. Highway 19, at Tecumseh Rd. At approximately 6:15 a.m., a pickup truck traveling northbound on 19 veered off of the roadway and, for reasons unknown at this time, crossed over the median and onto the western shoulder of the street, where it collided with an embankment. The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old man from Monticello, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. FHP was assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) and the Jefferson County EMS team.
